Over the next 18-months, we will be working with you to gather your aspirations and priorities for your local area that will form the long-term vision for Murray River to build our Community Strategic Plan (CSP). The Community Strategic Plan needs to reflect what matters most to you, our community - it's your plan and we want you to get involved.

The Community Strategic Plan will start with a purpose statement. This statement is Council’s reason for existence and describes why the Council does what it does.

Can you describe in your own words what you think the purpose of the Council is?

A purpose statement describes the Council’s reason for existence. It describes why the Council does what it does.

Take a look at this purpose statement below:

“Enable a healthy, liveable and prosperous community.”

Thinking about Murray River Council, what is missing from the purpose statement shown here?
