What are the steps involved in apply for a land reclassification Planning Proposal?

    The table below outlines a simple Planning Proposal (to reclassify land status) process to assist our community in understanding the steps involved. No timelines are provided as part of this example as timelines will be specific for each submission and not necessarily determined by Council.

    Council Resolution: Recommendation to progress the Planning Proposal for XX Lot and DP, seek reclassification of the land and DPHI gateway determination. 

    To start public consultation process noting DPHI conditions as per the Gateway Determination

    Planning Proposal endorsed by Council 


    Planning Proposal submitted to Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) for Gateway assessment

    Public Hearing Report advertised via Council’s online platform and a hard copy made available at Council’s office's  

     

    Public Hearing Report and copies of submissions provided to DPHI to upload on Planning Portal  

    DPHI to reclassification and notify Council of the outcome 

     Land Conversion is Government Gazetted

    Once Land is Gazetted the process is complete.  Council can undertake actions as per the new classification.
