Consolidated Development Control Plan

Making development controls work for our communities.

Murray River Council is reviewing its Development Control Plan (DCP) to make sure development controls are consolidated, clear, practical and appropriate for our communities.

The new consolidated Development Control Plan (DCP) will replace the existing Murray Development Control Plan (DCP) 2012 and Wakool Development Control Plan (DCP) 2013, and merge them into a single, contemporary unified framework to guide development and land use outcomes across the entire Murray River Council Local Government Area (LGA).

We want to hear from people who live, work, develop, build, invest and operate businesses across the region about their experiences with current controls, local planning considerations and where improvements may be needed and applied in the new consolidated DCP.

The final DCP will translate Council's adopted planning directions into practical guidance for development, helping shape how homes, businesses, rural properties and other development can occur across our communities.


Share your thoughts - Stage 1

We’re currently in the development stage of the new consolidated DCP - which is the perfect time for builders, developers and other key stakeholders to provide input on how the consolidated DCP will look.

We want to hear about your experience with the current development controls (i.e. the Wakool DCP 2013 and Murray DCP 2012) and where improvements could make the processes clearer and more effective. We are particularly interested in any suggestions about updating and merging any controls from the two current DCP documents and any specific controls that require consolidating in the new DCP.
